Wan Hazmer from Metronomik designed a new musical action-adventure game called No Straight Roads, and now the game is available on PS4. According to the developers of the game, No Straight Roads is a third-person character action-adventure game that revolves around music.
The player will control an indie rock duo on an adventure to defeat a corrupt EDM empire. The protagonists of the game are Mayday and Zuke who are unfairly rejected from an audition with the empire, and they witness the empire’s corruption a short while after.
The two protagonists decide to go on a music revolution to set the record straight in Vinyl City. The players could opt for learning the music which would help them later in combat. The players will have to pay attention to the music because the villains attack the beat and leave clues there.
This recognition apparently is central to defeating the enemies and winning the game. The player will have to defeat NSR’s artists which have a wide range of music genres to offer, ranging from pop-tastic robot boy band to globe-spinning DJs and rappers. Once these artists have been defeated, the player will go on to rule the district and unlock new areas of Vinyl City. All of this could be achieved in a 2-player local co-op too.
As per the developers, the game is all about music but they were clear to mention that the game does not fall under the genre of rhythm game. However, they have also included a special Parry Mode that unlocks after completing the story and restarts the game, but this time the players could bring some serious damage to the enemies by parrying their attacks to the beat.
The Parry Mode was included keeping in mind the hardcore rhythm games fans. The game is priced between £34.99-£39.99.
