Sony introduced Spatial Reality Display technology at CES 2021

According to the company’s description, the device uses a traditional LCD screen that comes with an optical lens above it, which works to refract light. This ultimately produces the 3D effect

The display adopts a triangular three-dimension design, mainly because it needs enough distance to provide space for the lens for the technology to function.

Additionally, it will also take up less space. However, there is one element about this new technology: the hollow design whose function is still unknown.

The display features a camera right above it. The camera can sense the three-dimensional data of the human face and track facial expressions at the same time. As per Sony, this technology is equipped to provide a real-time motion capture function that can map facial expressions to 3D characters. This real-time motion capture function will create animation and real-time inspection effects at the same time.

Sony’s official website announced that the Spatial Reality Display will be available at the price of $4999.99. Sony recommends that this new product be used with i7-9700K + RTX 2070 Super or above to trigger its smooth use. Sony did not mention if this product will go on sale globally.
