Last month the Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has confirmed the MIUI 12.5 update for some of its older smartphones. Xiaomi has termed the latest V12.5.1.0.RJDMIXM immediately follows the V12.1.3.0.RJDMIXM update which the company had issued back in May. The current update is available to only a handful of Xiaomi devices as part of Beta Stable testing. However, the company was also quick to mention that it will soon push a wider rollout within the next few days or by the end of this month. The full recovery zip is a 2.9 GB download, and the OTA is over 900MB.
The Mi MIX 3 is one of the handfuls of smartphones to receive the MIUI 12.5 update. The latest smartphone to receive the smartphone is the older model Redmi 10X 4G which was launched last year. The mi MIX 3 was launched in late 2018, and at that time the smartphone was powered by the MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. The smartphone was gradually updated to Android 10, MIUI 11, and MIUI 12 respectively. However, the company has also mentioned that this smartphone is not eligible for the Android 11 update, but the MIUI 12.5 update should work just fine for this smartphone.
The MIUI 12.5 update that both the Mi MI3 and the Redmi 10X 4G received is currently available in China. As mentioned above, these software builds will be rolled out in batches, and not at the same time.
The rest of the world, as assured by the Chinese company, will get the update soon. It should be kept in mind that the Redmi 10X 4G smartphone is known as the Redmi Note 9 outside of China, which means that the Redmi Note 9 will soon receive the latest MIUI update. This smartphone was launched with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Now that this smartphone is eligible for the MIUI 12.5 update, it is highly likely that this smartphone would also receive the MIUI 13 update as and when Xiaomi rolls it out in the future.
