World’s first rideable robot horse unveiled by Xiaopeng

The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer company, Xiaopeng, has unveiled the world’s first rideable smart robot horse. The intelligent machine horse was unveiled today on 7th September 2021.

Xiaopeng is an intelligent electric vehicle manufacturing company that has its headquarters in Guangzhou, with offices in Mountain View, California in the US.

According to the Chairman of Xiaopeng Motors, Xiaopeng, the smart robot horse is nicknamed Xiaobailong.

The new rideable smart robot horse is based on Pengxing’s innovative quadruped robot architecture design, with multi-dimensional perception of the environment, agile and stable movement, and intelligent emotional interaction capabilities and positioning.

The smart robot horse has the feature of a car-level intelligent driving system that can recognize the environment and objects through cameras and lidar, build maps, and plan routes.

While it functions as autonomous movement, target following, and automatic obstacle avoidance.

Equally, the robot horse features powerful speech interaction, face and voiceprint recognition skills, as well as tactile perception, and the ability to communicate emotions through the face screen.

The smart robot horse is equipped with special loading accessories to provide consignment function anytime and anywhere when you pick up goods.

While stating the need for the development of the new rideable smart robot horse, the Chairman of Xiaopeng Motors, Xiaopeng, said that: “if smart cars are the crown of intelligent manufacturing, then intelligent robots will be the crown of machine intelligence.”

“Xiaopeng will extend its autonomous driving, intelligent voice, and intelligent manufacturing skills to the realm of intelligent robotics. Our first goal is to create an intelligent low-speed transportation robot. To totally restructure the entire technical system, we will apply the concept of developing intelligent cars to build intelligent robots, and we will use deep learning and reinforcement learning. So it can ride, chat, transport packages quickly, and pay close attention to safety and quality.” – Chairman of Xiaopeng Motors.
