With the popularization of 4G and the noise surrounding 5G, the smart home is something that has made its name permanently on the consumers’ vocabulary. The ever-growing number of smart home products manufactured by what was previously considered to be smartphone manufacturers is only a testament to that.
A smart home provides its users with not only convenient home experiences where the user only has to utter a command to get the work done, but, more often than not, the smart home solutions have brought personalized experiences to its users which have only served to make it more popular. Subsequently, terminal manufacturers have entered the market one after the other.
However, in the current smart home market scenario, most of the smart home products are individual or the smart home solution is limited to single product intelligence only. In recent years, most companies have worked to bring a sort of smart home appliance ecosystem, thereby trying to expand the smart home appliances in a way that they are connected to each other to provide the users with more control. One of the leading names in this area is the Chinese tech giant Huawei who also made its name by manufacturing various products for the smart home solution.
On October 23, the company released a new whole house smart solution which will be based on HarmonyOS. The company also announced three major upgrades based on the original plan. The new announcement has also been extended to the issuer, merchants, and sales partners who have been asked to join the whole-house smart solution. Although how exactly the company is planning on achieving the tasks they have set out for themselves is not clear yet.
Moreover, Huawei is unlikely to release its strategic plans. Shao Yang who is the chief strategy officer of Huawei Consumer BG announced that “Our goal is to work with industry partners to achieve 5 million sets in 5 years.”
