The new video teases HTC Vive first look flow

A new video shared via social media has teased Taiwanese consumer electronics, HTC Vive first look flow. HTC’s latest teaser for the Vive Flow presentation later this week shows us the actual product for the first time.

The short clip of the video was originally released on Instagram, with the three very brief views of the outfit from three distinct perspectives included. It’s still too early to tell anything certain about the design, but it’s becoming increasingly plausible that this is a new headset of some form.

Last week, HTC began promoting an event with the motto ‘Go with the Flow.’ The announcement will take place on October 14th on the internet, however, we discovered trademark listings for a product called ‘Vive Flow’ earlier this month.

Other teaser photos have shown what appears to be a casing for the Vive Flow, and we highlighted yesterday that some advertising graphics for the event resembled the 2020 concept designs for a lightweight headset dubbed Project Proton. If Flow is tied to that concept, you can expect a device that links to another source, such as a smartphone, to power VR experiences, or a completely standalone device.

Recall that HTC maintains that it is expected to see the rise of “all-in-two” devices in 2021, and this would certainly fit the bill. However, according to the Vive China President, Alvin Wang Graylin said the teasing would reveal “big things in small packages.

HTC Vive is a virtual reality brand. It consists of virtual reality headsets and peripherals, virtual reality software and services, and initiatives that encourage virtual reality applications in fields such as business and the arts.

HTC Vive, the company’s first virtual reality headset, was released as part of a partnership with Valve Corporation, which used its SteamVR hardware and software ecosystem. HTC has also created peripherals that work with the Vive and SteamVR, including motion and facial capture sensors.
